About Kato
Kato Precision Railroad Models, formally known as Sekisui Kinzoku Co., Ltd., is a Japanese manufacturer of model railroad equipment founded in 1957 by Yuji Kato and headquartered in Tokyo. The company has grown into one of the most respected names in the model railroading hobby worldwide, producing models in N and HO scales for markets across Japan, North America, and Europe. In 1986, Kato established a dedicated American subsidiary, Kato USA, based in Schaumburg, Illinois, which handles the design and distribution of models tailored specifically for the North American market.
